Participants will create and demonstrate new scripts to support consistency in conversations with clients – – intake, opening & closing the session, obtaining informed consent. Participants will expand their communication skills to handle some of the common conversations necessary in running a successful, ethical practice.

Course clarifies the ethical standards AP's must adhere to, and the Code of Ethics of the North Carolina Board. Participants will discuss and identify current NCBTMB standards and agreements for educators and approved providers. Participants will discuss the pricing, structure, facility, policies, practices, cancellations, registrations, and referrals offered by other continuing education providers. Participants will discuss the good & bad courses they have attended in the past. Participants will demonstrate proficiency in communicating and maintaining policies, achieving course objectives, and maintaining board ethical standards. Participants will practice boundary conversations for communicating and adhering to the policies they set. Participants will begin to create policies and practices manuals for the continuing education courses they wish to offer. Participants will apply the board standards toward designing a lesson plan timeline and the material of the course.

4 CE Course $110 4pm - 8pm Greensboro - Course expands students’ skills at defining and communicating boundaries with clients. Participants will list common conversations and situations where boundary scripts are needed. Participants will identify current scripts and evaluate current language used in client conversations. Participants will create and practice new scripts designed to communicate clearly and to enforce their policies and ethical standards. Participants will obtain constructive feedback following presentations.
